Fremtidsfabler is composer and bassist, Sebastian Haugens, second album under his own name. The album mix Nordic improvisational traditions with American groove and riff-based music. The instrumentation on the record is both electric and acoustic, and has a sound that indicates the composer's fascination with the raw and unpolished sound ideal from the 1970s. Though the basic structure of the compositions is written and fixed, the composer places much of the responsibility in the musical expression with the musicians. This contributes to a unique sound where the compositions are largely colored by the performers.
